Best Racing Steering Wheels【How to choose】

Today I would like to introduce what I focused on when I bought a wheel controller. I bought and used Racing wheel controller for 2 years. I’m very happy with it.

Racing game is very fun, and driving a car is very fun. I think many people want to use the steering wheel controller. They are hard to decide.
Because, there are many Types, Options, Manufacturers, and the price is not cheap.

Match your console

What do you use for racing games? PC, PS, Xbox and others?
Check the compatibility that the wheel has. If they are not compatible, the wheels will not work.

Does the wheel have force feedback?

Force feedback (FFB) is the most important feature of the wheel controller. This is because FFB uses a motor to reproduce Self-aligning torque and vibration. They represent the swells and slips you feel when you are actually driving a car. They increase the immersion in the game. If you want reality, you need it. However, FFB makes goods expensive.

Feature and Options

・Clutch pedal

The wheel set has 2 pedals (without clutch) or 3 pedals (with clutch). It ’s better to have a clutch pedal. This is because many race and sports cars have clutch pedals. If you want a sense of presence, you need it. However, Formula cars and Hyper cars don’t have clutch pedals. It’s good to match the car you want to drive.

・Rotation angle

Match the car you want to drive.
The actual steering wheel rotation angle of many production car is 1080 degrees. However, Formula car is 360 degrees and Competition car have a small rotation angle.

・Handbrake

You can assign a handbrake to the attached button. However, if you like Formula D and Rally, you will like handbrake turns. If they are not in the manufacturer options, you need to DIY.
Please note that DIY will void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Budget

If you are buying a steering wheel controller for the first time, it is better to buy a middle range steering wheel controller. Because there may be a gap between ideals and realities, or not compatibility with software. First of all, it is good to get used to the steering wheel controller.
In addition to those introduced here, there are very expensive wheels such as Thrustmaster T-GT and Fanatec.

This wheel controller has Force Feedback.
I like this wheel controller and always use it. The force feedback is powerful and you can clearly see the undulation of the road surface. The attached 3 pedals are made of metal and easy to step on.
A little bad point is that FFB is noisy and has low expandable. The powerful metal gears of Logitech G29 rub against each other to generate vibration and sound. The lack of expandability is only in the H pattern shifter. Handbrake is only known to be acquired by DIY.
However, overall, this steering wheel controller is well balanced. Because it’s a powerful FFB, 3pedal set, mid of mid price. In addition, it has high compatibility with various game hardware, and many games support it. This is recommended for those who like DIY and well balance.

This is my favorite wheel. This wheel controller has Force Feedback.
This is one of the best wheel controllers. Because force feedback is powerful, quiet and smooth. This FFB uses a belts. You can also feel the fine undulations. T300RS has good expandability. Options include handle replacement, handbrake, H-pattern shifter, and luxury foot pedals.
On the other hand, there is some heat exhaustion from the powerful motor and the cost of the option. However, high performance force feedback will let you experience the best racing games. The T300RS feels smoother and better than the G29. However, it is not fair to simpl compare because the prices are different. If you can buy it considering the future and overall budget, I recommend T300RS GT Edition / TX Leather.

Conclusion

Wheel controllers can be a daunting choice as many products are on the market. Keep in mind your own uses and future, and choose not to regret later.
In my opinion, I think it is better to choose a wheel controller with Force Feedback.
